Antique French Louis XIII Style Bonnetière or Small Armoire. What makes this particular antique French petite armoire so unusual is the wood. Generally, one would expect to see oak, cherry or walnut. Our French armoire is actually constructed from “figured French Walnut” and it is drop dead gorgeous. We believe the bonnetière was made in the late 1700’s and we discovered the armoire just outside of Toulouse in Southwest France. Our Old Plank restoration department, determined the best path forward would be to go through all the connecting points for structural integrity and cosmetically just give it a good cleaning with a coat of beeswax. Condition: Repaired, all the connections or joints were gone through and cosmetically we only applied a coat of beeswax. he patina is original. Wear consistent with age and use.
