Set of 8 antique French dining chairs, in the style of os de mouton, which originated back to the days of King Louis XIV. The name, “os de mouton” (is French for sheep bone) and refers to the design of the arms and lower frame of the os de mouton French armchair. We generally stock several sets of the French os de mouton style dining chairs to choose from. The set here being listed on 1stdibs, were covered in hand-washed Irish linen and padded with horsehair. Each French dining chair frame, was completely rebuilt, including the installation of 8-way hand-tied coil springs and corner blocks were added for extra stability. Everything old school, with no modern short-cuts. Measurements provided are for the side chairs (seat height 21.5"). The armchairs are 43" high, 21" seat height, 22.5" wide and 24.75" deep.
