Restored antique French Empire (1804-1815), or Restoration (1815-1830) commode. Made from mahogany veneer resting on lion claw feet. Each of the antique French commode drawers, were carefully reconstructed, so they now function as originally intended, approximately 200-years ago. The commodes mahogany exterior was stripped of its worn-out finish and restored with an old fashion hand-applied shellac base clear-coat. The marble* was left as found and shows no prior repairs, but certainly has many light scratches, as one would expect. Should you desire, we can obtain a quote on restoring the stone top, but I have found, that once you make the top look new, the antique commode will start to look like an antique French reproduction commode. *Please note scratches and watermarks on the marble. It can be honed.
