Charlotte Perriand, born in 1903 and died 96 years later, in 1999. Charlotte Perriand was both, a great French architect and a stellar interior designer. Charlotte Perriand once said in 1981; "The extension of the art of dwelling, is the art of living—living in harmony with man's deepest drives and with his adopted or fabricated environment." In Perriand's Autobiography, "Charlotte Perriand- A Life of Creation," Charlotte stated; "I like being alone when I visit a country or historic site. I like being bathed in its atmosphere, feeling in direct contact with the place without the intrusion of a third party”. These are Charlotte Perriand’s, Bauche design, édition Sentou, French circa 1950. What makes this set so unusual, is that they are an original set of (8), Charlotte Perriand Bauche chairs, in their original unrestored condition and yes, as is usually the case, with old rush seats, some of them clearly could use some attention.
