Verre Églomisé, the French words, for the process of applying a gilded design onto the backside of glass, to produce a mirror finish. Derived from the 18th century French art-dealer and designer, Jean-Baptiste Glomy (1711–1786). This particular mirror, is unusual, not only because of the Églomisé, but the glass is also carved on the reverse side, to give an added three-dimensional appearance to the subject matter and in this case, it is grapes. Great addition for a wine room. Please note the width measured at the top is 42.63" and 43.88" at the bottom.
