Original watercolor by Dan Bloom of the USS Haraden and built by the Boston Naval Yard and launched on March 19, 1943. She was decommissioned on July 2nd, 1972. USS Haraden (DD-585), was a Fletcher-class destroyer, who departed Boston in October of 1943 and joined the aircraft carrier Intrepid, for her voyage to the Pacific. After surviving World War II, she arrived in San Francisco in 1946, after which she was moved to San Diego and retired. Haraden received five battle stars for her service in World War II. The watercolor was previously on display in the Officer’s mess at the Glenview Naval Air Station until 1995. There are no previous repairs.
