Pair of French leather Art Deco club chairs, probably made in the late 1920s. Typically, our Old Plank Upholstery department will try and save as much of the original leather as possible, but in this particular case, the cats won. So, we stripped the French club chairs to the bare wooden frames and built them new from the ground up, using only traditional materials, such as horsehair and shredded coco for padding and installing eight-way hand-tied coil springs. The leather is thick and was dyed in our finishing department, because we could not find an authentic color leather from the 1920s, so we made our own. Basically, you have a brand-new pair of circa 1920s French club chairs, built-up from 85-90-year old frames.
