Now, as a general rule of thumb, I try to avoid purchasing chandeliers, because inevitably when we receive them in our electrical department, they will eat up 40-80 hours of labour pretty quickly. This chandelier however, is the real deal and we are estimating that it weighs close to 100 pounds. Completely hand-forged over a 100 years ago and we just spent 40-50 hours going through it, from top to bottom. The candle covers are coated with real wax and look to be original. I am assuming that this was lite by candles first, before someone electrified it in the early to mid-1900s. The chandelier was found near the town of Roubaix, which lies right next to the border of Holland, or just typically referred to as; Northern France.
