Antique French commode in mahogany with a Sainte Anne grey marble top. The graining of the boards chosen for this chest were so beautiful that we simply could not bring ourselves to ebonize it and even knowing it would probably take longer to sell. The complete cabinet was carefully restored so as not to ruin any of the original patination. Our expert finishing department took great pains to apply an old fashion French polish in order to highlight the exceptional wood used during construction. The experts where we purchased this piece in Normandy, declared it was made during the end of the Louis XVI period (Fin de l’epoque Louis XVI). We’ll call it, early 1800s.
