Workman’s cabinet found in an Italian boatyard made in the mid-1800s and in absolutely untouched original condition, even down to the carpenter’s tools. When we started in this business on a professional basis, about 25 years ago, finding “real” original paint cabinets were not all that uncommon, but today it is almost impossible. Sometimes you will see the descriptions; paint enhanced, or touched up, but this cabinet is exactly as it was when purchased in Italy. We added a lock and a hook catch just so the doors would close, but basically that is all it required and of course a decent cleaning. Even all the glass and chicken wire is correct, so for those of you who can truly appreciate original paint, such as ourselves, it just does not get any better than this. No problem in stalling matching patina shelves.
