Rumor has it that this finely constructed solid-wood lattice work urn and pedestal were on on display at the Palace of Versailles. Of course, we have no way to authenticate something that happened well over 100 years ago. We do know however, that this large urn on pedestal must have been used for some kind of gala or celebration due to its mere size. It has received, what we call a sympathetic restoration (we have photos of before, showing what was done). Perfect so many places, this awesome urn does have a newer zinc liner making it suitable for use indoors or out. With its original bluish paint primarily intact, we only had to match the new wood and do a few touch-ups. If you happen to like antiques and over the top grandeur, look no further as this is a fantastic specimen.
Condition: Received sympathetic restoration-- a few very small pieces of trim were replaced. We left the paint alone.
